Pausing & Resuming Your Subscription

How pausing works

Pausing skips upcoming boxes without cancelling your subscription. Your plan, recipes preferences, and delivery day are all kept while you're paused. You can pause from Account → Subscription → Pause, or just ask support to pause for you.

How long you can pause

You can pause for 1 to 52 weeks, until a specific date within a year, or indefinitely (resume whenever you like). A finite pause resumes automatically on your normal delivery day when it ends. Pausing does not count as a cancellation. A cancelled subscription can't be paused — you'd reactivate it first.

Pausing and resuming take effect next week

Your plan always pauses (or resumes) from next week — this week's box still ships. When you pause, you're credited the value of the weeks you'll skip before your next billing date, minus the $8/week pause fee (see Pricing & Plans). While you stay paused, that $8/week fee is billed on each billing date instead of your plan price. When you resume, you're charged for the weeks remaining until billing at your plan's weekly rate, minus the same $8/week fee.

Changing plan while paused

You can't change plan while paused. If you'd like a different plan, resume and switch at the same time — resuming on the new plan applies its weekly rate to the resume charge.

Resuming early

You can resume any time before your scheduled resume date from Account → Subscription → Resume, or by asking support. Resuming restarts your plan from next week.
