What is FreshCrate?

FreshCrate is a weekly meal-kit subscription. Each box brings chilled, pre-portioned ingredients and a step-by-step recipe card for every meal you chose, so the shopping and measuring are done and you just cook. Most recipes take about 25-40 minutes. You pick your plan size, dietary track, and delivery day, and a box ships each week until you pause or cancel.

FreshCrate is not a grocery delivery service, a restaurant delivery app, or a catering company, and it doesn't sell non-food household goods. Everything we send is meant to be cooked at home from the ingredients and recipe card in the box.

Our mission

FreshCrate's mission is "Good food, less friction - for every kitchen."

Cooking a good dinner on a weeknight shouldn't feel like a second job. We plan the menu, portion the ingredients, and write the recipe so the parts you don't enjoy - deciding, shopping, measuring - get out of the way, and the part you do enjoy is what's left.

What we value

Honest ingredients. Every recipe card and product page lists its ingredients and major allergens. If something matters for what you're eating, we put it where you can see it rather than leave you to guess.

We respect your time. When a recipe says it takes a certain amount of time, that's a real cook time, not a hopeful one. We'd rather under-promise than have a "quick" dinner turn into an hour.

Less waste by design. Pre-portioning exists so you use what you're sent and throw less away. We treat reducing food waste as part of the product, not an afterthought.

Leaving is easy. There's no contract and no minimum number of boxes. You can skip a week, pause, or cancel from your account in a few clicks - we don't hide the exit or make you argue your way out.

Cooking for real households. Recipes are built for families with picky eaters, roommates on different diets, and people cooking for one - not just for a photo.

Who founded FreshCrate?

FreshCrate was founded in 2019 by Haseeb Iqbal, who serves as Founder and CEO. It began as a single kitchen serving one city and grew into a regional weekly meal-kit service over the years that followed.
